BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – Weekends fill up fast in the springtime, so mark your calendars now for what the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS) hopes will be the event of the season: Tourette Syndrome Awareness Day!
Hosted by the five-time Atlantic League champion Somerset Patriots, Tourette Syndrome Awareness Day will take place Sunday, April 29, at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater when the Patriots play the finale of their season-opening four-game series against the Long Island Ducks.
Game time is 1:05 p.m., and NJCTS pregame festivities – including on-field presentations of an official TS Awareness Day proclamation from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, as well as recognition of NJCTS scholarship winners, the Educator of the Year and the Healthcare Provider of the Year – will begin at approximately 12:40 p.m.
“This is an important awareness event for TS that will be a fun day for kids and families alike,” NJCTS Executive Director Faith W. Rice said. “We are thrilled to be working the Patriots to put on what we hope will become an annual event at TD Bank Ballpark.”However, the Patriots will open the gates at noon, and kids will have the opportunity to take part in a pregame autograph session with the Patriots on the field. Following the game, kids also will be allowed to run the bases in the Diamond Derby.
Tickets to TS Awareness Day at TD Bank Ballpark are available now through NJCTS for only $10, with all proceeds going to help NJCTS continue to provide programs for the TS community. Group sales and corporate sponsorship opportunities also are available.
