February 15, 2011- The New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome will present a professional development workshop for educators on April 1st at Raritan Valley Community College.
“Understanding Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders” will offer strategies that will enable educators to create a learning environment that supports the social, emotional and intellectual development of all students in the classroom.
Disorders such as ADHD and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder as well as anxiety, depression, auditory processing and other learning disabilities will also be addressed. Interventions and modifications for behavior management will be discussed. Insights shared regarding the nature of TS outside the classroom will help educators gain an understanding of the whole child and develop a partnership with parents. Professional Development credits are available for this course.
