More on my summer

What a whirlwind!  I just finished a musical theater show, Guys and Dolls. with the South Plainfield Summer Drama Workshop (SPSDW) Program. It was my 7th year.  We had a good time performing one of the shows on the award-winning Crossroads Theater Stage.

One of my friends from NJCTS, Tommy Licato, was also in the show.  He had the role of Harry the Horse, and he was hilarious. Tom and I became friends because of NJCTS, so it was very nice to be on stage with him!   I am going to interview Tom for my next blog, so stay tuned.

I had a great time singing at the Somerset Patriots on July 20.  I’ve been invited back to sing the National Anthem again on August 18 for a Veteran Honor Day, and you have no idea how honored I am! I am very patriotic and support our troops and Veterans — without them, we would not have our freedom.  I also am singing the National Anthem at the Camden Riversharks on August 16, and also doing a radio show, “Mitch and Gary’s,” on www.oldiesplus.net at 5 p.m. on August 17.

Hey, I am marching in the NJ Disability Pride Parade on October 4, and I’ll be performing.  Let me know if you want to join me, as it would be great to bring some awareness to NJCTS on that day.  Imagine all of us walking together in our State Capital. We can really make an impact and raise awareness.  We can also help support the legislation we are trying to get passed.

College starts soon, and I’ll be in the studio recording. I also have two upcoming shows that I’ll write more about in upcoming blogs.  I hope you all are having a great summer — stay cool!
