Taking place June 7-9 at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.campbernieymca.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>YMCA Camp Bernie<\/strong><\/a>, the weekend once again promises to be the &#8220;best weekend of the year&#8221; &#8212; even moreso after NJCTS received a generous grant from the <a href=\"https:\/\/njcts.org\/wordpress\/njcts-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Brad-Cohen-Tourette-Foundation-Grant.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Brad Cohen Tourette Foundation<\/strong><\/a> to help offset the cost! If you&#8217;re going, here&#8217;s a little of what you can expect:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2461\" style=\"width: 477px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/njcts.org\/tsparents\/best-weekend-of-the-year-is-coming-are-you-ready\/963949_10151587592197422_1600995976_o\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2461\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2461\" class=\" wp-image-2461\" alt=\"963949_10151587592197422_1600995976_o\" src=\"https:\/\/njcts.org\/tsparents\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/963949_10151587592197422_1600995976_o-1024x768.jpg\" width=\"467\" height=\"350\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2461\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The staff at YMCA Camp Bernie has been renovating and cleaning the swimming pool so that campers this summer can enjoy it!<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>FRIDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After check-in and prior to our usual campfire, join in a pick-up game of basketball or volleyball. Then sit back, relax and bask in the glow of a roaring, warm campfire &#8212; complete with s&#8217;mores and glow necklaces!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>SATURDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In additional to the exciting array of camp activities &#8212; the climbing wall, swimming, canoeing, arts &amp; crafts, etc. &#8212; we will have two special guests: licensed social workers Gayle Forman and Lisa Cox Ph.D., who will present a workshop on family dynamics. Cox also will facilitate a panel of young adults, college-aged and over, who will discuss life with TS.<\/li>\n<li>While parents are occupied with Gayle &amp; Lisa, the kids &#8212; accompanied by our dedicated gang of volunteers &#8212; will be split into groups to do some team-building exercises, then learn how those same skills can be applied throughout their daily lives. Volunteers this year include 5 PhD students who work in the <a href=\"https:\/\/njcts.org\/wordpress\/njcts-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/May-Repository.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Rutgers TS genetics research program<\/strong><\/a>!<\/li>\n<li>On the musical side, we are pleased to announce that the winner of Bravo TV&#8217;s &#8220;The Kandi Factory,&#8221; South Plainfield High School senior <a href=\"https:\/\/njcts.org\/teens4ts\/author\/corys\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Cory Singer<\/strong><\/a>, will be on hand to perform. And at night, DJ Harry Hubert will lead us in our annual Talent Show. If you have a talent and would like to share it, this is your chance! Just don&#8217;t forget to bring your props, and keep your act to 3 minutes. Only one act per person or group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SUNDAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., we&#8217;ll feature &#8220;The Doctor Is In&#8221; for parents. <a href=\"https:\/\/njcts.org\/wordpress\/njcts-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/UMDNJ-Grand-Rounds.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Dr. Tolga Taneli<\/strong><\/a>, a psychiatrist at UMDNJ with years of TS expertise, will answer any questions you might have.<\/li>\n<li>For the kids, the normal set of camp activities will be available, plus a yoga class.<\/li>\n<li>We will conclude our camp activities at lunch, and we&#8217;ll even sneak in a hula-hoop contest.
