I am the proud mother of a daughter with Tourette Syndrome and we are excited to again bring TEAM E to the 5th annual NJ Walks for TS at Mendham on November 15! It would be nice to have a bigger team this year.
If anyone ever could sit here and watch what one child with Tourette Syndrome goes through every day instead of always saying maybe to going, you would say yes . I live with an 11-year-old girl who says all she wants to be is “normal”. What’s normal? I think she’s normal. She just has different ways of expressing herself.
I have a daughter who has a mild case and I think she goes thru a lot. I have been there year after year at Camp Bernie where the kids are “FREE TO BE ME”. These children go through so much physically and emotionally and are afraid to not have friends.
This is a tear-filled plea to please please consider walking with us on November 15 in Mendham. Do not do it just for Erin — do it for other kids. As a mother, you want no children to be sad and disappointed. If we don’t stand up for them, who will? Bring a smile to a child’s face. Actions speak louder than words.
TEAM E would love to have you!!! Erin has also been asked to be on the Youth Advocate Co-Chair Committee this year. Instead of sleeping late on November 15, come over and walk with us. I promise you you will not be disappointed. You will walk away knowing you might have changed a child’s life by your support!!! Thank you!
