It can be difficult to hear someone point out that your tics seem better because there is so much more to Tourette’s than what others can see. It’s the nature of Tourette’s to have symptoms wax and wane; there are good days and there are bad days, and they are unpredictable.
You can learn to suppress tics while around others, but that doesn’t mean that the tics aren’t still there. It takes a lot of focus, and the tics don’t just go away. Eventually, you have to let them out.
