September 19 webinar on raising children in an age of technology

Children today are surrounded by infinite choices and very few limits – especially in the realm of technology – and as a result, many parents feel as if they are losing control of their kids to the high-tech, fast-paced world in which their children are growing up. The generation gap is widening and becoming a huge, scary crater separating parents from their children.

Would you like to hear some reasonable, down-to-earth strategies that can help ensure your children successfully develop key social skills, a healthy identity and a strong work ethic needed to make the right choices? On September 19, the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS) will present a Wednesday Webinar titled “Generation Text: Raising Well-Adjusted Kids in an Age Of Instant Everything” from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. EST.

Presented by Dr. Michael Osit, a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked with children and adolescents for more than three decades, this webinar will offer practical techniques and realistic strategies to help parents raise happy, well-adjusted and well-behaved kids, while maintaining a balance between the world of technology and trusted “old-fashioned” values. Dr. Osit frequently presents seminars and workshops for mental health professionals, parents and educators on issues such as parenting, child development and communication. Dr. Osit practices privately in Warren, N.J., and Morristown, N.J.

NJCTS launched the monthly Wednesday Webinar series, which draws an audience from 48 states and 13 countries, in 2008. The series, offered at no cost to participants, features online seminars for parents, educators and professionals on topics of interest to the TS and associated disorders community. Professional development credits are given upon verification of attendance and completion of an exit survey. Credits are distributed by mail one week after the webinar.
