A day in the life of an NJCTS staffer during the corona outbreak

Hello NJCTS Families!

While I considered getting spruced up for this picture, I decided it would be so much better if you all got to see what life REALLY looks like for me at the moment…  CRAZY.  This is a pictorial representation of how I feel on the inside!

As many of you know, I have twin 7 year olds, Joseph and Giuliana.  We started our online learning a few weeks ago, and I have to say it has been an education for both them, my husband and myself! (Working from home and teaching is a tall order, for sure.) Although they are enjoying being able to stay in the comfort of their own home, they are missing their friends and teachers a lot.  We’ve done a lot of video chatting so they can at least see them.

We’ve been trying to keep our routine as close to normal as possible, but it isn’t always easy.  However, when I start to feel overwhelmed, I remember that my family is safe and healthy.  We have food, warmth and each other, and that is really wonderful. I also remind myself that this is not forever and that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel.  Every day comes with its own unique challenges, and we face them as they come, and I believe we will be stronger for it.

I do hope all of you can take it one day at a time as well, and remember that while this is all very overwhelming, you are strong and we are in this together. Please also remember that NJCTS is here for you, for whatever you might need.  Be well NJCTS family, and keep on keepin’ on!
