Dr. Kurlan received his BA from the University of Rochester, and MD from Washington University, St. Louis. Dr. Kurlan is internationally recognized for his expertise in the clinical care and research of neurological movement disorders, including Tourette’s syndrome (TS). He is the founding and current principal investigator of the TS Study Group (TSSG), a consortium of U.S. and Canadian centers that collaborate to conduct large-scale clinical research studies in TS. The milestone studies this group has conducted has changed the treatment practice for TS worldwide. Dr. Kurlan has published more than 60 articles on TS and has edited a textbook on the illness which is in its second edition..
