The Joint Legislative Resolution of the NJ Senate and General Assembly on the Sharing Repository

This resolution recognizes the fifth anniversary of the now-federalized NJCTS Cell and DNA Sharing Repository at Rutgers University

 

SOMERVILLE – The New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS) is proud to announce that it has obtained an official Joint Legislative Resolution from the New Jersey Senate and General Assembly recognizing the fifth anniversary of the now-federalized NJCTS Cell and DNA Sharing Repository at Rutgers University. The resolution reads as follows:

 

“WHEREAS, The Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey are pleased to join the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders, a highly esteemed organization within the Garden State, upon the auspicious occasion of the Fifth Anniversary of its partnership with the NJCTS Cell and DNA Sharing Repository at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey; and,

 

“WHEREAS, the NJCTS Cell and DNA Sharing Repository is renowned as an appropriate venue for citizens of this State with Tourette Syndrome to contribute valuable data, genetic samples and material to help researchers worldwide to study causes and to work toward better treatment and a cure for this neurological disorder that affects thousands of State residents, as well as more than 1 million people across the nation; and,

 

“WHEREAS, the NJCTS Cell and DNA Sharing Repository has been federalized and renamed as the National Institute of Mental Health Sharing Repository, and serves as the central location for analyzing genetics samples from 26 sites worldwide; and,

 

“WHEREAS, the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders is especially commended for its praiseworthy efforts in supporting and advocating for individuals with Tourette Syndrome and their families, educating the public, medical professionals, and educational communities, and promoting research about this disorder; and,

 

“WHEREAS, it is both proper and fitting for the members of the Legislature to pause in their deliberations to acknowledge the Fifth Anniversary of the NJCTS Cell and DNA Sharing Repository, and to salute the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders for its outstanding efforts on behalf of others; now, therefore,

“Be it resolved by the Senate and the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey that this Legislature hereby honors the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders, praises the significant work of the NJCTS Cell and DNA Sharing Repository, and extends sincere best wishes for continued success and vigor; and,

“Be it further resolved that a duly authenticated copy of this resolution be signed by the Senate President and the Assembly Speaker and attested by the Senate Secretary and the Assembly Clerk.”
