New Jersey Walks For TS all about anti-bullying awareness

When we stand up, bullies back down! Please stand up and walk the walk by joining the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS) for a day of advocacy, empowerment and fun designed for kids, by kids and about kids on Saturday, November 3, for the 3rd annual New Jersey Walks For TS at Borough Park in Mendham.

Bullying affects thousands of children each day in New Jersey, and NJCTS supports them and all the mechanisms designed to protect them — including the walk, which will take place rain or shine Nov. 3, beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. and continuing with the walk at 10 a.m. Registration is now open and is $22.50 through Oct. 31. It will be $25 on the day of the walk.

This year’s 5K family fun run/walk will strengthen the statewide education outreach and peer advocacy programs of NJCTS. It also will feature a family picnic as part of the event. Bring your lunch and comfortable chairs. Stay for fun, music and entertainment.

Most importantly, join NJCTS and walk to support children and families with TS, ADHD, OCD, anxiety disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome and other neurological disorders. Make November 3, 2012, the day you walk the walk and stand up against bullying! It doesn’t matter what makes us different when we focus on what makes us strong.
