NJCTS Newletter – March 2011

Spring is a busy time for NJCTS, it’s a time for us to get together and recognize the best in the TS community- our students, our teachers and our health care professionals. Please note that applications for the NJCTS Scholarship, Educator of the Year and Healthcare Professional of the Year award are due by the extended deadline of April 15th . Contact Kelley Teabo with questions at 908-575-7350. Go to www.njcts.org/scholarships.php for application and nomination forms.

NJCTS Scholarship Award Once again, NJCTS is offering a scholarship to a college-or-trade school-bound New Jersey high school senior with Tourette Syndrome. Recipients are chosen on the basis of academic record, recommendations, an essay and, if appropriate, talents as demonstrated by means of an audiotape/CD/videotape/DVD. The purpose of the award is to recognize a student with TS and their accomplishments despite the disorder and to encourage his/her continued education.

NJCTS Educator of the Year Award Does your child have a teacher, guidance counselor, administrator or other education professional who has gone above and beyond to learn about TS? Advocates to break TS stigma? Or is just a kind and helpful leader? NJCTS Healthcare Professional of the Year Award This honor goes to a healthcare professional who has made a significant difference in the life of a child with TS. This includes doctors, nurses, psychologists and other clinicians.
