Mark your calendars: SIX educational workshop opportunities from August through November

The New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders will present in-service seminars for educators at five county college around New Jersey

 

As part of a continuing partnership with Ocean County College, Camden County College, Warren County Community College, Passaic County College and Raritan Valley Community College, the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS) is pleased to offer the following professional development workshops for early childhood, elementary, middle school, high school and even college educators:

  • Tourette Syndrome: An In-Service for Educators
    • 9 a.m. to noon August 15 at Ocean County College, presented by Janine Howley, MA. This course is listed as SRED 107-01 and is free. More information is available by visiting ocean.edu.
    • 6 to 9 p.m. October 2 at Camden County College, presented by Cheryl Ludwig, MA, CCC-SLP. More information, including cost and course number, is available by visiting camdencc.edu.

  • Red Flags: Recognizing Early Warning Signs
    • 6 to 9 p.m. October 25 at Camden County College, presented by Cheryl Ludwig. More information, including cost and course number, is available by visiting camdencc.edu.
    • 9 a.m. to noon November 16 at Raritan Valley Community College, presented by Melissa Fowler. The course is listed as CRN 23821 and costs $59. More information is available by visiting raritanval.edu/cce.

“Tourette Syndrome: An In-service for Educators” is designed to teach educators about Tourette Syndrome and its associated disorders, with an emphasis on school-related issues and strategies that can enable teachers to create a supportive learning environment. “Red Flags: Recognizing Early Warning Signs” is primarily geared toward early childhood and elementary educators. It will discuss the possible issues educators and parents might look for in a child with Tourette Syndrome, OCD, ADHD, anxiety and other neurological disorders.

Who should attend? Teachers, counselors, school nurses, psychologists, social workers, all health and nursing professionals, and anyone who is interested in learning more about these important subjects.
