June 4 is officially Tourette Syndrome Awareness Day in New Jersey! The official legislation, aimed to raise public awareness of Tourette Syndrome and improve the quality of life of all people touched by TS, was signed into law by Governor Murphy on July 20, 2018.
HOW CAN YOU HELP TO RAISE AWARENESS ON JUNE 4TH?
It’s simple. Write a letter to your mayor and/or town council asking for the designation of June 4, 2025 as TS Awareness Day in “your town,” and be sure to include why YOU think it’s important to bring awareness to your hometown. Tell your story or your family’s story. Be sure to include your contact information so they know that you are a resident of that town. Plus, you may be asked to attend a council meeting to have the proclamation formally presented to you!
Be sure to take a photo of yourself with your proclamation so we can thank you and your town for recognizing TS Awareness Day! Email it to us at info@njcts.org.
If they ask for sample language for the proclamation, you can download a sample below.
