Our newest NJCTS support group is an avenue for parents who are new to a Tourette Syndrome diagnosis to seek support and guidance from parents who have more experience, as well as an opportunity for parents with more familiarity in coping with TS to help guide new families. For February’s group, our facilitator Dr. Jeremy Lichtman will be joined by his father, Dr. Jeff Lichtman, who will share some of his own experiences of parenting a child with Tourette.
Dr. Jeff Lichtman is Director of Student Mental Health Services and Lucille Weidman Director & Professor of Graduate Jewish Education & Special Education at Touro College & University System. A school psychologist with many years of experience in both regular and special education settings, Dr. Lichtman has masters’ degrees in psychology and special education form St. Johns University and NYU. He received his undergraduate and Rabbinical training from Yeshiva University, where he completed his doctorate as well. His areas of expertise include individual and group counseling, school & organizational leadership, social skills development, and teacher training.
