Family Support Group: Trichotillomania. What is it and How is it Treated?

This presentation will provide fundamental information regarding trichotillomania, such as what it is and ways to diagnose. This presentation will also provide overview of different treatment modalities for trichotillomania. The presentation will include a description of the ComB model that is considered the gold standard in treatment and assessment of trichotillomania. After the presentation, the viewers will possess the fundamental knowledge about the condition as well as ways to provide and/or refer for the most appropriate treatment.

Dr. Urbaniak received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, where she graduated with honors. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Health Psychology from Appalachian State University and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, an Americal Psychological Association (APA) accredited program. Dr. Urbaniak specializes in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety disorders in children, adolescents, and adults utilizing evidence-based treatments.
