– In this workshop, participants will learn about the symptoms, possible causes, diagnosis
and treatments for Tourette Syndrome and its associated disorders — Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, learning disabilities, anxiety,
depression, etc. A key component of the workshop will focus on effective strategies and
accommodations to use inside and outside the classroom. Reviewing the implications of
a diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome and related disorders, and how they affect academic
performance, including IEP and 504 plan considerations will be part of the workshop
discussion. Recommendations on helpful modifications and interventions strategies for
behavior management will also be addressed.
